One More Sushi Dinner with Kiera

Kiera is heading to Idaho. Do you think there will be good sushi or any money for good sushi...no. So we needed to have one more Sushi dinner before she left. It was Yummy. Really we all needed to have one more Sushi dinner with her. We love you Kiera.

Christmas Vacation

Just taking it easy on Christmas vacation...

Jason is starting to pick up a book more and more to read. Reading is almost easy enough now that he is starting to enjoy it.

Actually Jason was sick over Christmas vacation. We were going to go skiing. I was off and ended up just working around the house, getting the yard in order. It ended up being a good week because we took one of our favorite trips -- to Santa Cruz.

Christmas Day

Christmas was on Sunday this year. There are two great things about that. Church is really short and focused on Christ. Just the best service ever. And you get a better balance of what Christmas is going to church: its not just presents.

We had a fun day. We did our gifts at home, and then we went over to Ruth's and did some more gifts.

You always have to get toothpaste and underwear for christmas right!

Jason got new wheels.

Jason and I both got new shoes!

Sammy got some great presents. She loved opening her presents.

At Ruth's house there were some cool gifts. We got Kiera some boots for school (and she got everything imaginable for school), and we made here a cute going away card with some oragami money.

I think everyone recieved gifts that made them happy, but I think Leah got the best one in that area. She got a wall ball wall. And she was surprised and in heaven. She is the wall ball queen.

Christmas Eve 2011

We love Christmas Eve at the Davis's - I love it. The best food, the best company, and just a great spirit as we remember the night before Christ came into the world. I am always touched by the blend of celebration and reverence. And Rod and Ruth are just the best hosts ever. Well and of coarse the prime rib has reached perfection! We are so blessed to have so much and enjoy so much.

There are some talented folks here. It is a fun kind of talent. Jason and I did the drummer boy we have done for the past few years.

We love the nativity reinactment. There is always a new special touch. This year it was Charlie's Angels that showed up on the scene. Zachary was quite the king as well.

My favorite Christmas lights picture this year

We were coming back from somewhere...and snagged this picture in front of Ruth's house.

I call this picture 'light heads'.

Getting ready for Christmas

This year has been too busy. I think starting new jobs has taken a toll on me. But we did manage to get in a few Christmas activities.

This year we did not go an see Santa. This is the first year that Jason has not sat on Santa's lap. He decided he would rather just write him a letter. So we mailed a letter to Santa.

I think this says...

The school had a fun holiday program.

Probably our favorite tradition before Christmas is putting up the miniature ornaments. Jason can really help me with that now.

We made our ginger bread houses, put up trees, went carolling (this year with Dane Laverty and his family), Jason spent some of the time off at AMA, so that was fun for him.

Jason always draws a fun winter christmas scene on some of the christmas cards.

Thanksgiving in Boise

Since Cherie took the pictures and hosted the party and did a fantastic post on it all I am just going to pull it all over and post it here.

It was an awesome time and fun to hang out in Boise.
======================================================
Monday, November 28, 2011{The Great Big Thanksgiving Post}

It's funny how it happens. The whole bunch descended upon the house at the beginning of the week and yesterday afternoon they all flew the coop about the same time.

We had such a fun week and it went by so fast - it always does.
It was a treat to have Brittany and Rachel here with us. Jax had gone down to Mexico with his dad and a friend to take much needed items to the needy there, and because Brit is pregnant and it is a long trip her Dr. preferred she not go. Rachel's family was just a little too far away so we got to enjoy our 3rd daughter for this holiday.
And Linnette and Jason joined us which is always fun. We appreciate them spending time with us!

We did what families do - We hung out alot.

Katie made yams for the first time to take to her in-laws house for Thanksgiving. I helped her out a little bit. Ohhhhhh we love those yams!

Planking???

Is Dad under there somewhere?

Mom and Lee had Thanksgiving at their house this year. They did a wonderful job. The food was delish and we all had a good time.

Taylor - Rachel - Pretty Table - Yams!

After dinner we let the food settle by napping, cleaning up, watching football games and talking.

Grandma (Mom) and her babies.

When we felt like we could move again we played "Minute To Win It" - Talk about a crazy fun time! If you have never played or heard of it, it is a game where you have to complete a challenge in under a minute. Then you win a prize.
I had prizes for everyone and then we played the White Elephant game with them after - it was fun.

The paper bag challenge. Pick up a bag with your mouth and take it to the couch without using your hands or letting your knees touch the ground. The bags got shorter and shorter.

The TP challenge. Brittany had the roll of TP on a pencil (it was a double roll too!) and Ryan had to spin and wrap himself up in the entire roll of TP in a minute, without tearing it. He did it!

The Rubberband gun challenge. Lee had to make a rubber band gun with his fingers and shoot the rubber bands at playing cards that were sticking straight up in the rug. He had to shoot all 3 down in a minute. He did it! This was a hard one!!

Taylor and Trent went head to head in the Kleenex challenge. They had to pull all the Kleenex out of their boxes 1 by 1 in a minute. Taylor won. Harder than it looks.

Linnette and I raced in the cracker challenge. We had to put a cracker on our forehead and without using our hands wiggle it with our faces down to our mouths and eat it. It fell off my face 3 times before I finally got it in my mouth and won Linnette!! We laughed so hard as you can see and everyone was laughing at us because you make some pretty funny faces when you are trying to wiggle something down your face.

Kurke made this challenge look easy. He had to stack 4 lipstick cases using chopsticks. Way to go!

The golf ball challenge. Seriously Seriously HARD! I could not even believe that Brittany finally achieved this. She stacked 3 golf balls on top of each other. Not easy for sure. It definately takes patience and a steady arm.

We had 9 challenges all together but this one was another super tough one. Holding a popsicle stick in your mouth and stacking 6 dice on top of each other without them falling. You could only use one hand to stack the dice and you had to do it in a minute. Rachel and Jason did it after a few tries. Hard one! This game is a ton of laughs and there are sooooo many challenges you can think up and do.

In between playing non stop games of Settler's of Catan, eating ourselves silly and watching movies on t.v. we went to a movie in the Theater and saw Hugo. It was really really good. We had all ages in our group: parents, young adults, teens and kids, and we ALL liked it. Great story!

Rachel is so cute!
(And, why yes, the other movie goers around me, loved me for taking a flash picture in the dark theater).

See Brittany's cute little baby bump.

Here is another picture - 17 1/2 weeks.

Our last night together - Sob - The week just went by way too fast - Linnette took us all out to dinner at Tucano's where we over extended our bellies yet again...Sooooo good!! Thanks Linnette we really enjoyed it!

We were cracking up because we all ate and ate and ate (it is never ending food if you want) and all the rest of us were done and Brittany kept eating and eating and eating - that baby must have been hungry!

To finish off the visit Jason lost his 2nd tooth. He actually let Katie help him wiggle it loose and help pull it out. Brave little dude! He is such a handsome little guy and was pretty happy to have his tooth come out.
