Schools Out for Summer!

I am a bit bummed that I have to work so much. But Jason will have fun. The last week of school is full of fun activities. There is the school party. Then there is state and country night where everyone who wants to presents a state or country. Last year Jason presented the smallest state and I did most of the talking. This year he picked the largest country and I didnt do any of the talking. He did a great job talking about Russia. The last day of school the kids went to a play downtown and then had their traditional 'run' across the finish line to the next year. It was a fun week.Jason started AMA in the summer of 2008, here he is as a cowboy.

State and Country Night, presenting and singing the states of the United States and the countrys and all their capitols.

Generally where you see Jason you see Leah Burnett. The fun before the ribbon ceremony.

Running through to the next year.

After we celebrated with donuts and launching rockets in our backyard!

Lady Bugs and Water Bugs

Every spring we get some lady bugs for our garden. Sometimes at the creek, sometimes at the store. If you let them out at night, they will not fly, but they will burrow and make a home where you let them out.

Every spring there also seems to be a fair number of water bugs in our pool and it is a lot of fun to catch them and put them in a bucket.
Can you see the baby water bug?

Mother's Day

Mothers day is awesome. This year there was Mother's day tea at school.
When I arrived he took me inside to our own little table. He pulled out the chair for me so I could sit down. Then Jason set up the table with placemats that he had made and gave me a menu to order from. I could have cake with strawberries and whipcream or just strawberries etc, any combination. He served and cleaned up. He was so serious and attentive the whole time. He wanted to make sure he gave me the best service I think. It was very sweet.

Jason also made me a pin that he put on me.

Sunday on Mothers Day we went to church. Lately we right on the program to each other. I love Jasons spelling it is phonetic.

After church we went to dinner at Ruths house. It was a treat. Jason loves to stay dressed up in his suit. So going to dinner in a suit is a good idea. He looked so handsome and we had such a great time as always. Great company, great food and some relaxing fun. Now that I am working its the only time I can relax. I have to get out of my house.
What happy smiles and beautiful girls. Amazing all of them. Ruth is a great mom and I learn so much from her.
These guys are tireless supporters. Great guys to have around. They made an awesome dinner! I was impressed they even made our favorite salad.
These mothers are amazing. I am so lucky to be learning from them. I have learned so much by watching them.

Kiera and Jason

Kiera has been watching Jason since I have gone back to work. It has been AWESOME. They play, do homework, do chores and cook Dinner. Kiera has been such a big help and Jason loves having an older sister and friend like Kiera. Kiera had to do a photo project for school so here are some pictures she took.

These two are quite the pair.

Spring Camping April 29 thru 31

We love camping. This is our third year camping at Del Valle outside of Livermore in the spring. Usually we get some wind and some cold and some very nice days as well. Its half way between Santa Cruz and Sacramento, so we picked that spot. We camp with a group of friends from Santa Cruz that also have family here in Sacramento. Jason loves just being able to run and play and get dirty and sleep in a tent. This year he got very involved with adding wood to the fire, roasting marshmellows, hunting for pollywogs in the stream and using the chuck-it with the dogs. Each day he was up at the crack of dawn and then tried to stay awake as late as possible.

High on a log!

Zippy, Souix and Jo-Anne are the grand organizers. They play softball together in Santa Cruz.

Jason got wet every other hour searching the stream and hunting for polly-wogs. We brought home two pollywogs!

Hanging around the fire

The best thing about spring camping is keeping warm early and late by the fire.

Scary stories, hotdogs, marshmellos, and staying up as late as possible and then falling asleep dead tired.

Camping Friends

Kaily was there the first time we went camping. She is a beautiful dog and fun to play with. Jason throws the ball with a chuck-it for her. It is fun watching the dogs try and find the chipmonks and dig big holes after them.

A new friend Zach camped with us this year. It was Zach's first time camping. The first 20 minutes he was there I was wondering how it would go, because he kept insisting he needed to change his shoes because they were dirty. He adapted quite well!

The boys decided to take their camping chairs and sit over by themselves and have their own conversation!

This face of Jason's just makes me laugh.

Packing up is never fun. We were sad to leave. But before we hit the highway, Jason was asleep for 4 hours. That is my sign of a good time for a 5 year old.
